The Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research, pursuant to the laws defining these areas and the Statute, carries out the tasks of the provincial administration in the field of higher education and student accommodation, related to the preparation of acts for the Assembly or Provincial Government, concerning: the founding and co-founding of scientific institutes and research and development centres and exercise of founder’s rights thereof; regulation of issues in higher education of significance to the province; proposing of the member of the National Council for Higher Education; regulation of student accommodation issues of significance to the province.
The Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research, in accordance with the General Interest Programme of the Republic of Serbia, carries out tasks of the provincial administration related to: housing issues of young, academic and scientific workers; promotion of international cooperation, technological development and innovation activities; provision of funds for the co-financing of specific programmes of innovation activity and infrastructure in the territory of AP Vojvodina; co-funding of the programme of Novi Sad Branch of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Matica Srpska, Matica Slovačka and other institutions conducting scientific and research activities, and are of significance to AP Vojvodina; provision of funds for co-financing of basic research and research programmes in the field of technological development in the AP Vojvodina, for the co-funding of participation of academic and scientific workers and students in scientific conferences and professional development abroad, as well as for organisation of scientific conferences in the territory of AP Vojvodina.
The Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research carries out executive, expert and development tasks of the provincial administration within the scope of its competences, as well as keeps track of, supervises and assists the work of institutions and public services, founded by AP Vojvodina.
The Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research, in accordance with the law, carries out those tasks of the state administration, in the field of higher education and student accommodation, which have been conferred on the authorities of AP Vojvodina by the law.
The Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research carries out other tasks conferred on it by the law, Provincial Assembly decision or other regulation.
